Ready to Start Your Own Business?

Entrepreneurial boot camps can help. These programs are designed to provide assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs, increase the formation of new companies and strengthen business operations during the early stages of development.

If you're a first-time entrepreneur with a business idea, you probably need to do a lot of research and planning before you’re able to persuade anyone -- banks or otherwise -- to give you funding. The purpose of these boot camps is to teach you how to write a business plan and to take a hard look at your financial needs and prospects. It’s also a chance to discover and address the shortcomings in your idea and develop answers to the tough questions anyone would ask before loaning you money.

Entrepreneurial boot camps provide you with the framework to run your business and help you become accountable for day-to-day operational tasks.  Boot Camp covers the business plan, marketing plan, financing and running your business after it opens. Participants also receive information on taxes, resources issues and legal matters everything a new business owner needs in order to move through the ranks of success.

The Entrepreneurial & Education Center in Wausau has developed a Entrepreneurial Boot Camp. The Boot Camp will give participants the confidence, resources and skills necessary to start or expand a business. The boot camp is an intensive learning program design to train potential entrepreneurs. The program aims to:

Train participants in the basic skills necessary to start or expand a business

Develop the entrepreneurial spirit

Create a network of business owners

Provide support services of venture capital, business operation, planning and marketing

The first Entrepreneurial Boot Camp starts on December 1 and goes through December 5, 2011. Classes on Thursday, Friday and Monday are from 5:00 - 9:00 pm; and on Saturday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; with no class on Sunday.  The program will be held at the Entrepreneurial and Education Center, 100 N 72nd Ave, Wausau
